Decentralized Clinical Trials - Epileptologist (Remote)

Epileptologist in decentralized clinical trials (DCTs) or remote clinical research settings acts as a specialized medical expert, focusing on trial integrity, patient safety, and data accuracy, often without requiring daily, in-person patient visits. These roles are typically remote or hybrid, supporting pharmaceutical, biotech, or contract research organizations (CROs).

Key Responsibilities

Remote Data Review: Reviewing, interpreting, and classifying eDiary seizure data submitted by patients or remote sites.
Medical Monitoring: Providing real-time monitoring of study endpoints and ensuring subject safety throughout the trial.
Protocol Development: Contributing to study design, inclusion/exclusion criteria, and trial amendments, particularly for gene therapies or new antiepileptic drugs.
Remote Expertise & Collaboration: Engaging with investigators, site staff, and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) via virtual platforms to discuss complex cases or query discrepancies.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring all clinical activities adhere to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and ICH guidelines.
Diagnostic Review: Evaluating remote EEG, MRI, or other neuroimaging studies.

Key Qualifications

Education & Certification: MD, DO, or equivalent with Board Certification in Neurology and specialized fellowship training in Epileptology or Clinical Neurophysiology.
Experience: Previous experience in clinical trials (specifically in epilepsy), with familiarity in EEG and seizure classification.
Skills: Proficiency in virtual work environments, strong communication skills for remote patient interaction, and high attention to detail.
Licensure: Active medical licensure in the state of employment, with multiple state licenses often preferred.

Pay: $200.00 - $240.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 per week
