DMS CLINICAL COORDINATOR POSITION SUMMARY:
The DMS Clinical Coordinator works collaboratively with the program director, school director, students, and clinical sites to insure clinical education that is in accordance with the college mission and institutional and programmatic accreditation standards. The DMS Clinical Coordinator assists the DMS Program Director with the administration, planning, implementation, overall development, management, supervision, and evaluation of the clinical education in the DMS program as delegated by the Program Director.
DMS CLINICAL COORDINATOR JOB FUNCTIONS:
The DMS Program Clinical Coordinator is responsible for assuring that clinical education is in accordance with didactic education. The Clinical Coordinator evaluates and ensures the effectiveness of the clinical education sites through regular visits to the sites. The Clinical Coordinator's responsibilities include oversight of the student clinical rotations, coordination of clinical evaluation and competency, and clinical instruction. The Clinical Coordinator participates in the maintenance of accreditation records necessary for documentation of clinical rotations. The Clinical Coordinator may be required to provide didactic education (i.e. classroom and or laboratory teaching) as assigned by the Program Director.
Participates in the development, implementation, evaluation, and revision of the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program curriculum
Is a member of and participates on the Program Advisory Board
Prepares reports necessary for college effectiveness such as but not limited to accreditation documents, evaluation of student outcomes, and effectiveness of teaching
Serves as a liaison between the program and the clinical site personnel
Serves as a liaison between the student and clinical instructor
Participates in the initiation, review and maintenance of Clinical Affiliation Agreements
Communicates the program requirements, clinical objectives and all educational expectations to the clinical site
Schedules clinical site rotations of students
Schedules site visits during the externship to meet with students and the clinical instructor on-site
Supervises and monitors student's progress during externship/rotations
Provides program approved tutoring or remediation services to students when indicated
Performs other teaching responsibilities as assigned by the Program Director
Perform administrative responsibilities as delegated by the Program Director
Provides evaluation and feedback to the program on course materials, current changes in practice, standards of practice, and student accomplishment of course and program outcomes as related to clinical development and competency
Assists with the development, implementation, evaluation and revision of the program curriculum plan and course content in accordance with program standards and student and College needs
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
