Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Phlebotomist / Lab Tech to join our clinical laboratory team. The ideal candidate will perform specimen collection, processing, and laboratory procedures with precision and professionalism. This role is vital in supporting accurate diagnostics and patient care, requiring a strong understanding of laboratory techniques, patient service, and anatomy knowledge. Duties
- Collect blood samples through venipuncture and capillary puncture using proper aseptic techniques
- Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing according to established protocols
- Perform routine laboratory procedures including blood sampling, specimen labeling, and documentation
- Measure and record vital signs as needed to support patient assessment
- Ensure patient comfort and provide excellent patient service during specimen collection
- Maintain strict adherence to safety standards, including infection control and aseptic techniques
- Assist with laboratory tests by preparing samples for analysis and maintaining laboratory equipment
- Document all procedures accurately in compliance with hospital and laboratory policies
- Support the laboratory team with general duties related to specimen handling and data entry
Requirements
- Proven experience in clinical laboratory settings or hospital environments preferred
- Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, techniques, and anatomy relevant to phlebotomy
- Certification or training in phlebotomy or related laboratory techniques is highly desirable
- Familiarity with medical terminology, physiology, and blood sampling methods such as venipuncture
- Experience with specimen collection/processing, patient care, and vital signs measurement
- Ability to perform venipuncture with precision and aseptic technique while maintaining patient comfort
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and adherence to safety protocols
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment within a healthcare setting
- Prior experience in hospital or clinical laboratories is a plus but not mandatory for entry-level candidates
