JOB DUTIES:
Under the direction of the Administrative Director, Chair, Vice Chair, and in collaboration with Division Chiefs and Principal Investigators, the Research Manager plans and coordinates the Department’s research function and resources to include all personnel, protocols, logistics and clinical research practice. Responsible for strategic planning; growth initiatives, management, and enhancement of the research portfolio. Generate annual and quarterly research reports. Research and Development, Training and Education. Oversee compliance with research institutional, state and federal policies, guidelines, and regulations. Manage daily research operations; supervision, hiring and training of support staff. Data management and analytics. Special projects. Fiscal review and administrative oversight.
Essential Functions:
Regulatory oversight (compliance with UFHSC, IRB, GCP, federal and state regulations/guidelines); organizational management of research studies and clinical trials. Patient recruitment, screening and enrollment.
Responsible for strategic planning (short and long-term goals); research and development, growth initiatives and enhancement of the research portfolio (i.e., grants and clinical trials)
Responsible for providing faculty support in scholarly activities (prepare/submit abstracts and manuscripts; data collection and analysis, and scientific presentations).
Evaluate, develop and conduct training/education programs.
Organize departmental research activities; establish Research Office to manage all research operations to include staffing, training and supervision.
Grant development; proposal preparation and submission; monitor/track funding opportunities; pre-and post-award processes.
Data management and analytics for departmental QAs, performance improvement, and other outcome measures for clinical and research.
Participate in department special projects for clinical and research such as the MRI Prostate Program, 3D-printing lab, imaging and post-processing software applications, etc.
Provide fiscal review and oversight of research budgets and financial reporting procedures, billing, monitoring, and controlling expenditures.
When necessary and as directed, provide administrative oversight to departmental staff; participate in staff hiring and interviews.

Education Requirements:
Bachelors Health Science, Management or related field required
Masters Public Health Science or Health and Administration preferred
