Otogenetics is one of the leading laboratories specialized in prenatal genetic testing. The extensive test menu including Carrier Screening, NIPT, Hereditary Cancer Risk Assessment, Familial Hypercholesterolemia, Congenital Hearing Loss, and other rare hereditary diseases testing.
Otogenetics has an opening for a PhD scientist in genetics, molecular biology, and/or biochemistry with at least 3 years experience in cell-free DNA assay development and performance. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following :
- Develop, validate, and perform plasma-based cell-free DNA assay(s) using next generation sequencing (NGS) and other advanced technologies
- Work with other team members to develop automated workflows for cell-free DNA assay(s)
- Working with bioinformatics team to establish bioinformatics pipelines for cell-free DNA assays
- Interpret assay results
- Work with laboratory director and QA managers to establish complete QC and QA procedures for cell-free DNA assays developed
- Capability to perform other molecular and genetics procedures
The ideal candidate would possess :
- PhD in genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry
- A minimum of 3 years of experience with cell-free DNA assays using plasma specimen
- A minimum of 3 years of experience with NGS data processing, interpretation, and/or reporting
- Strong bioinformatics, scientific, and organizational skills
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail
- Leadership Abilities
- Self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
Basic Minimum Qualifications :
- PhD required
- 3 years of experience in cell-free DNA assays
- 3 years of experience in NGS
- Publications including the use of cell-free DNA assays to demonstrate required scientific and technical background and work experience
- Authorization to work in the United States
