Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated technician to assist with laboratory operations and ensure compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in scientific research and experience in clinical trials. This role will involve coordinating assay development, and ensuring the quality and accuracy of results across various analytical techniques, including gas chromatography and high-performance liquid chromatography.
DUTIES: (includes, but not limited to the following)
▪ Responsible for specimen processing, test performance, reporting lab results
▪ Running real-time PCR analysis
▪ Sample preparation for molecular clinical testing
▪ Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analysis, reporting, and maintaining records of results
▪ Ensure quality control in collecting specimens, ensure appropriate sampling, and maintain accurate record keeping
▪ Maintain laboratory instrumentation and supply inventory
▪ Comply with all laboratory policies and OSHSA regulations related to safety and cleanliness
▪ Practice safe work habits, including complying with all safety, health, and environmental rules and regulations
▪ Participate in routine proficiency testing for the lab
▪ Perform all duties as assigned
SKILLS AND COMPETENCY: (includes, but not limited to the following)
▪ Knowledge of medical laboratory principles, standards, applications, and tests
▪ Knowledge of medical laboratory safety
▪ Knowledge of medical laboratory equipment uses and maintenance
▪ Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in written
▪ Proficient ability to use a computer and maintain all the records
▪ Ability to maintain patient, team member, and employer confidentiality; Comply with all HIPPA regulations

▪ Ability to adapt easily to changing conditions and work responsibilities
GENERAL EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:
▪ B.S. Chemistry or Biology REQUIRED
▪ 2 years or more experience with high-complexity molecular clinical testing, with at least 6 months experience in the specialties of Bacteriology and Virology REQUIRED
▪ Experience with clinical testing and real-time PCR instrumentation REQUIRED

Pay: $30.00 - $32.00 per hour
