Laboratory Technician

CoreBioLabs is currently searching for a full-time Laboratory Technician to perform tests and assist in maintenance of lab technical process.
We are a CAP accredited, CLIA certified, High Complexity reference laboratory specializing in cancer diagnosis. Our goal is to develop and provide innovative diagnostic tools to improve physician’s capabilities through our urine cytology, molecular and pharmacogenetic testing. Our primary focus is the creation of innovative screening tests that can detect cancers and cancer precursors at their earliest stages, which correlates to less invasive treatments and cures, while decreasing mortality rates.
Schedule:
- Monday-Friday
- Rotations on weekends
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in molecular biology, microbiology, biochemistry, medical technology or related field
- Meets requirements for CLIA high complexity testing personnel
- Two years clinical laboratory experience preferred
- Familiarity with Quantstudio Flex systems, BD Phenix M50, AU480 and Access 2 preferred
- Communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and precision
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy
- Excellent computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office
- Data entry experience preferred
- Ability to lift 10-30lbs. on occasion
Responsibilities:
- Process and handle blood, urine and/or other biological specimens according to established procedures
- Molecular Lab: Perform DNA and RNA Extractions for Molecular testing. Set up regular PCR, and RT-PCR.
- Core Lab: Familiar and able to operate Beckman AU480 Chemistry Analyzer, Access 2, Hermatology DxH system
- Micro Lab: Set up cultures, set up antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST) and isolates/identifies specimen suitable for testing on BD Instrument
- Perform data entry review in LIMS system
- Follow SOP, quality control and HIPPA procedures to perform job duties
- Perform proficiency test and take corrective action when needed
- Perform daily preventative maintenance, service, and QC logs for lab instruments and equipment
- Ensure that laboratory inventory is well-stocked and resourced
- Keep shipping records according to established procedures
- Adhere strictly to safety procedures
- Participate in CAP inspection preparation
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
