Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to support laboratory operations, testing, and quality control efforts. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, problem-solving, and contributing to real-world applications through laboratory analysis.
You’ll be working in a fast-paced environment where accuracy, consistency, and accountability matter. The ideal candidate is reliable, curious, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
Duties
- Perform water quality testing using established laboratory methods, procedures, and SOP’s
- Conduct water treatment “demand” testing to evaluate and optimize chemical dosing strategies
- Execute chemical performance testing, validation studies, and compatibility assessments
- Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation, including ICP-OES, FTIR, DR900 colorimeter, titration setups, probes, friction flow loop systems, and etc.
- Accurately record, analyze, and report data in laboratory systems and spreadsheets
- Ensure data integrity through careful documentation and adherence to QC protocols
- Support quality control efforts, including calibration checks, standards verification, and troubleshooting inconsistent results
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness, organization, and compliance with safety standards
- Manage high sample volumes and repetitive testing with consistency and attention to detail
- Work efficiently under tight deadlines, with flexibility to support overtime when needed to meet project timelines
- Assist with general lab operations, including inventory management and reagent preparation
- Collaborate with team members to improve processes and efficiency
Field Component (as needed):
- Ability to safely operate a vehicle and navigate to field locations independently
- Perform sample collection, basic field testing, and proper sample handling for transport to the lab
- Operating a company vehicle that will be provided for field-related work during business hours (not for personal use or commuting)
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to consistently produce accurate, reliable results
- Ability to follow established procedures and SOPs precisely while maintaining efficiency
- Comfortable performing repetitive testing for extended periods while remaining focused and consistent
- Ability to work on your feet for extended periods in a laboratory environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Basic computer proficiency, including data entry and familiarity with Microsoft Excel
- Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment
- Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record
- Reliable transportation is required to commute to the laboratory location
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather and site conditions
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific field (or equivalent hands-on laboratory experience)
- Familiarity with chemical treatment evaluation, including demand testing, compatibility testing, or performance validation
- Prior laboratory experience (academic or industry)
- Familiarity with analytical methods (e.g., titrations, spectrophotometry, filtration, etc.)
- Experience with data entry, LIMS, or Microsoft Excel
- Experience in oilfield, environmental, water treatment, or relevant industry
Work Environment
- Laboratory setting with exposure to chemicals and analytical equipment
- Work is primarily performed on your feet, with extended periods of standing, moving between stations, and handling samples
- High-throughput environment requiring consistent execution of repetitive testing while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
- Fast-paced workflow with time-sensitive testing and occasional high-pressure deadlines
- Overtime may be required periodically to meet project timelines and operational demands
- Use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required at all times
- Team-oriented environment with shared responsibility for maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient lab
- Occasional field work may be required to support sampling and on-site testing efforts

Pay: $24.00 - $35.00 per hour
