Position Overview
SPN is seeking a Texas, bilingual (Spanish-speaking) Grades 4–8 Math/Science Teacher responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in mathematics and science, fostering student engagement, and promoting academic achievement. The teacher will create a positive, structured classroom environment and use data-driven practices to support diverse learners.
Key Responsibilities
· Deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction in mathematics and science for grades 4–8
· Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS)
· Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including English Language Learners (ELLs)
· Use data-driven practices and assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction
· Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and compliance requirements
· Establish and maintain a structured, positive classroom environment focused on student achievement
· Integrate technology and hands-on learning to support student engagement
· Collaborate with instructional staff, administrators, and support personnel
· Communicate effectively with students, families, and stakeholders as appropriate
· Participate in required professional development and staff meetings
· Support program expectations, policies, and student supervision as needed
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Valid Texas teaching certification in:
· Core Subjects (Grades 4–8), or
· Mathematics (Grades 4–8), and Science (Grades 4–8)
· Bilingual in Spanish (required)
· ESL Certified or in process of obtaining certification
· Ability to pass federal background check requirements
Preferred Qualifications
· Master’s degree in Math, Science, or related field
· Experience working with English language learners
· Familiarity with technology-driven or blended learning environments
Skills & Abilities
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to simplify complex scientific/math concepts for diverse learners
· Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and classroom management
· Experience with student information systems (SIS)
· Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds and manage classroom/lab materials
· Ability to stand, bend, and move throughout instructional periods
Compensation & Benefits
· Salary $79,000
