At Comprehensive Care Services, we believe that delivery of quality patient care begins with a highly trained intraoperative neuromonitoring team experienced in monitoring neurosurgical, orthopedic, otolaryngology, general, vascular and peripheral surgery. Our board-certified technologists are supported by internal training and interpreting professionals with many years of experience in the intraoperative neuromonitoring field.
We have an immediate need for a full-time Intraoperative Neuromonitoring Technologist in Mattoon, IL. Duties
The IONM Technologist is an advanced neurodiagnostic professional responsible for delivering precise, high-quality intraoperative neurophysiologic monitoring.
- Collaborate with supervising physicians, surgeons, and perioperative staff to provide relevant, high quality IONM.
- Responsible for set-up, monitoring, and charting during surgeries using IONM.
- Assist with inventory management and restocking of all IONM-related supplies and equipment.
- Assist with cleaning of all equipment and maintaining appropriate documentation.
- Perform ancillary administrative duties such as preparing reports, copying/filing documentation, returning calls, and collecting relevant patient information pre- and post-operatively.
- Must be available to work extended or irregular hours as needed, depending on procedure start times, case duration, and facility demands.
- Provide on-call coverage for IONM services and/or backup support for emergency procedures with an acceptable response time.
- Demonstrate commitment to and compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies across the organization.
- Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Current on all professional registries including but not limited to National Provider Identifier Registry and Council for Affordable Quality Healthcare.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and medical staff.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting scientific/technical materials, safety guidelines, and procedural documentation.
- Ability to write clear reports and communicate effectively with staff and patients.
- Competency in basic mathematics, including fractions, percentages, and interpreting graphs.
- Strong reasoning and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate non-standardized situations and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Computer proficiency, including entering, retrieving, and analyzing data within electronic systems.
Education and Experience
- Must obtain a minimum of an Associate's degree; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of one (1) year work experience in a related medical field.
- Must be current on all credentials and education requirements.
- Must have completed at least 25 cases within last 12 months.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Certification or licensure as a CNIM Technologist required
- BLS Certification preferred
- Proficiency in all IONM modalities preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods, including maintaining standing positions for over 60 minutes.
- Frequent use of hands for fine motor tasks; ability to reach, climb, balance, talk, and hear.
- Occasional sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and assist with moving patients or equipment weighing over 150 pounds.
- Required vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
