Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Microbiology Technician to join our dynamic research and development team. Duties
- Conduct microbiological assays and tests in accordance with established protocols, including culture preparation, incubation, and analysis of microbial growth.
- Support quality control initiatives by verifying the accuracy and reliability of laboratory results, ensuring adherence to GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) and CGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practice) standards.
- Maintain detailed records of laboratory procedures, test results, and data collection using Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
- Assist in the validation and calibration of laboratory equipment to meet FDA regulations and industry standards.
- Perform molecular biology techniques such as PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) and histology procedures to support research projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on research & development activities, providing microbiological insights for product improvement.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols related to animal physiology, veterinary terminology, and laboratory procedures in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
Skills
- Strong understanding of microbiology techniques, including culturing, staining, and microscopy.
- Knowledge of GLP, CGMP, FDA regulations, and quality control standards relevant to industrial laboratories.
- Experience with molecular biology methods such as PCR, DNA/RNA extraction, and analysis skills.
- Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) for data entry and tracking.
- Ability to follow detailed laboratory procedures accurately while maintaining high standards of scientific research.
- Excellent analytical skills for interpreting complex data sets within research or clinical laboratory settings.
- Proficiency in veterinary terminology, animal physiology concepts, and histology techniques is a plus.
- Strong math skills for precise measurements, calculations, and data analysis in a research environment. Pay: $24.87 - $29.95 per hour
