THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced Radiologic Technologist – Cardiac Cath Lab (Fluoro Certified Cath Lab Tech) to join our team for an urgent assignment. The Cath Lab Rad Tech assists physicians and the cardiovascular team during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. This role requires strong technical skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced procedural environment, and strict adherence to hospital policies, radiation safety standards, and patient care protocols.
Essential Responsibilities: Cath Lab Procedure Support
- Assists physicians during diagnostic and interventional adult cardiac catheterization procedures.
- Performs both scrub and circulate duties during interventional adult Cath Lab procedures.
- Prepares and maintains sterile fields for cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures.
- Operates fluoroscopic imaging equipment to support diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures.
- Demonstrates competency with Cath Lab equipment, imaging systems, and procedural workflow.
- Assists with patient positioning and procedural preparation while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Imaging & Radiation Safety
- Operates fluoroscopy equipment in accordance with radiation safety standards and hospital policy.
- Maintains compliance with all fluoroscopy licensing requirements and radiation protection standards.
- Ensures accurate imaging techniques are utilized during procedures.
- Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac anatomy and imaging protocols used during interventional procedures.
Patient Care & Monitoring
- Assists with patient preparation prior to procedures including patient identification and procedure verification.
- Monitors patients during procedures and promptly communicates changes in patient condition to the physician and care team.
- Maintains patient safety, privacy, and comfort throughout procedures.
- Assists during emergency situations within the Cath Lab environment.
Documentation & Communication
- Accurately documents procedures and patient information in accordance with hospital policy.
- Communicates effectively with physicians, nurses, and Cath Lab staff to ensure efficient workflow and patient care.
- Participates in patient handoffs utilizing approved communication tools when appropriate.
Compliance & Safety
- Adheres to infection control policies, sterile technique, and National Patient Safety Goals.
- Follows hospital policies regarding patient identification and procedural safety standards.
- Maintains a clean, organized, and safe procedural environment.
Qualifications
Required:
- Current Radiologic Technologist certification/licensure
- Current California Fluoroscopy License
- Experience scrubbing and circulating adult interventional cardiac catheterization procedures
- Cath Lab experience in an acute care hospital setting
Pay: $840.00 per day
