Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Technologist to join our dynamic laboratory team. In this vital role, you will perform specialized staining procedures on tissue specimens to detect specific antigens, supporting diagnostic and research efforts. Responsibilities
- Prepare and process tissue specimens for immunohistochemical staining, ensuring adherence to established protocols.
- Perform antigen retrieval, blocking, antibody incubation, and detection steps with precision and consistency.
- Maintain detailed records of all procedures, results, and quality control measures for traceability.
- Operate and calibrate laboratory equipment such as microscopes, slide stainers, and automated IHC platforms.
- Assist in the validation of new assays and troubleshoot technical issues to optimize staining quality.
- Follow strict aseptic techniques to prevent contamination during specimen handling and processing.
- Collaborate with pathologists, research scientists, and clinical staff to ensure timely delivery of accurate results.
- Assist in training new staff
- Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement programs
- Collaborate with pathologists, histotechnologists, and lab personnel to support diagnostic workflows.
Skills
- Proven experience in clinical or research laboratory settings specializing in immunohistochemistry techniques.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures including specimen collection, processing, and slide preparation.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathology relevant to tissue analysis.
- Experience with laboratory techniques such as antigen retrieval methods, antibody staining, and microscopy.
