**About us**
We are a pioneering tissue engineering company dedicated to advancing regenerative medicine. Our mission is to develop innovative therapeutic solutions to repair and regenerate damaged tissues and organs. We are a team of passionate scientists, engineers, and medical professionals committed to transforming the future of healthcare.
**Position Overview:**
You will lead the design and execution of sophisticated genetic engineering programs spanning stem cells, embryos, and in vivo developmental systems. This role sits at the intersection of genome engineering, developmental biology, and platform technology development.
You will develop new methods for precise genetic manipulation, build engineered cell lines and organisms, and help establish the genetic toolkit
This is a highly experimental role requiring both deep technical expertise and creativity. The ideal candidate is excited by hard biological problems and is comfortable developing entirely new approaches when existing methods are insufficient.
**Key Responsibilities:**
Genome Engineering
- Design and execute genome editing strategies in mammalian cells and embryos.
- Build knock-in, knock-out, reporter, lineage tracing, and synthetic biology systems.
- Develop methods for multiplexed genome engineering and large-fragment insertion.
- Engineer programmable gene regulation systems using CRISPR-based technologies.
Embryo and Developmental Engineering
- Perform genetic manipulation of mammalian embryos and embryo models.
- Develop approaches for editing at zygote, cleavage-stage, blastocyst, and post-implantation stages.
- Generate genetically modified developmental systems for studying cell fate and lineage specification.
- Build tools for tracking cellular behavior throughout development.
Platform Development
- Evaluate and implement emerging genome engineering technologies.
- Establish scalable workflows for engineering cells and embryos.
- Develop assays to quantify editing efficiency, on-target performance, and developmental outcomes.
- Contribute to long-term platform capabilities in developmental control and prediction.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with stem cell biologists, developmental biologists, computational scientists, and automation engineers.
- Help define new experimental directions enabled by advanced genome engineering.
- Mentor junior scientists and contribute to scientific strategy.
**Qualifications:**
Education
- PhD in Genetics, Molecular Biology, Developmental Biology, Bioengineering, Synthetic Biology, or related field.
Technical Experience
- 3+ years of hands-on genome engineering experience beyond graduate training.
- Demonstrated experience editing mammalian genomes.
- Deep knowledge of CRISPR technologies and genome engineering principles.
- Experience generating engineered mammalian cell lines.
- Strong molecular biology skills including cloning, sequencing, genotyping, and construct design.
- Experience analyzing next-generation sequencing data for editing outcomes.
Mammalian Embryo Experience
- Mouse embryo microinjection.
- Zygote engineering.
- Embryo electroporation.
- Blastocyst manipulation.
- Generation of genetically modified animals.
