Pathologists’ Assistant (ASCP)
Description of Job:
CVPath Institute, a not-for-profit organization that provides consultation, histology, and diagnostic services to promote discoveries that advance diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases, located in the metropolitan Washington DC area, is seeking a full-time ASCP certified Pathologists’ Assistant to manage human cases (Autopsy consults including Clinical Trials) and preclinical animal studies (GLP and non-GLP).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The primary duties of the Pathologists' Assistant involve case tracking management, gross tissue dissection, x-rays, digital photography, organization of lab work for the pathologist, and writing preliminary reports for analysis.
Qualifications:
Candidate must have completed a Pathologists’ Assistant training program (NAACLS) or hold an MS degree in the biologic sciences with a background in gross tissue analysis.
National Certification (ASCP) preferred.
Hands-on laboratory experience required.
Must be well organized and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must adhere to GLP, CAP, and SOP policies and procedures, as applicable.
Strong computer competence required (Microsoft Office) and the ability to learn new programs quickly.
