Under general supervision of the CEO and the Medical Director, the Lab Manager is responsible for the effective operation of all lab equipment, supervising and training laboratory personnel, performing clinical laboratory procedures, instrument maintenance, conducting and overseeing quality assurance and quality control, and adhering to all safety and regulatory standards.
Reports directly to the CEO and Medical Director.
- Participates in the drafting and update of all laboratory standard operating procedures (SOP’S), to comply with changes in regulations (CLIA & NYS) as well as accrediting bodies as applicable.
- Participates in ongoing assessment and revision of the laboratory workflow including pre analytical, analytical, and post analytical functions.
- LIS oversight
- Responsible for the daily supervision of staff including, but not limited to, training, coaching, and evaluating staff to ensure a well-qualified team and to enhance operational success and compliance.
- Participates in the hiring, evaluation, and when necessary corrective action of staff members.
- Responsible for staff training and certification of competency.
- Prepare work schedules and ensure appropriate coverage for assigned shift.
- Supervise all work processes, and ensure work is performed accurately and efficiently.
- Assures CLIA compliance
- Perform other related duties as necessary.
Must possess training and/or experience in a CLIA regulated environment or an acceptable laboratory, including five (5) or more years of experience in general laboratory management.
- ASCP required
- BS degree in Laboratory Science or equivalent.
- 5 years clinical laboratory experience.

Pay: $70.00 - $80.00 per hour
