PCR Lab Technician –
Pay Range: $65,000 – $70,000 a Year
Day Shift: 40 hours

Location: Rockwall, TX 75087
Please note: candidates without healthcare/life science experience or prior laboratory work will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Sort and organize samples by specimen type.
- Assess and analyze sample integrity prior to testing.
- Perform DNA/RNA extraction using Qiagen HTs and Kingfisher platforms.
- Plate extracted samples into 96‑well and 384‑well formats.
- Conduct Real‑Time PCR assays using Quant Studio instruments.
- Analyze, interpret, and report PCR results with precision.
- Troubleshoot instrumentation and resolve technical issues to maintain workflow.
- Always adhere to standard precautions and laboratory safety protocols.
- Interpreting preliminary and results with accuracy and insight.
- Troubleshooting technical challenges using established laboratory procedures.
- Maintaining detailed, regulatory‑compliant documentation of procedures, reagents, and equipment.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in micro pipetting (single channel, multichannel, and repeater).
- Strong data analysis and troubleshooting skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Commitment to maintaining compliance with laboratory safety and quality standards.
Experience
- Minimum 2-5 year of PCR experience.
- Minimum 2-5 year of laboratory experience
- 2–5 years in a CLIA‑certified molecular lab setting.
- Medical Technologist board certification.
- Strong foundation in statistics and quality assurance principles.
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and composure under pressure.
- Knowledge of biosafety and chemical safety protocols.
- Ability to demonstrate technical competence within 90 days of hire.
Education & Certification
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or Medical Laboratory Science OR
- MLT/MLS Certification
