Innovation Institute - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - (26002704)
The New Ventures group within the Office of Innovation & Entrepreneurship (OIE), is seeking a qualified (Working Title). This position will work with faculty, staff, and student entrepreneurs to evaluate and develop technology for commercialization. Job duties will include, but not be limited to:

Supports the creation of inventions and intellectual properties for marketability and commercialization. Creates detailed reports using analytic research and data-driven suggestions.

Facilitates commercialization strategies for inventions and intellectual properties to include assistance in identifying management teams; early-stage investors, participating in company formation decisions, assistance in implementing spin-off strategies, and following up and monitoring licensee performance.

Collaborates and effectively works with faculty, staff, and student entrepreneurs, regional economic development organizations, early-stage venture capitalists, companies, and others to advance innovations.
Preferred qualifications include:

An advanced degree in molecular biology, pharmacology, genetic/genomics, or equivalent industry experience.

Experience in pharmaceutical/biotech industry i.e. business development, technology evaluation, development program selection.

Direct experience in working with entrepreneurs who are developing buisnesses. Experience in writing business development plans, investor presentations and SBIR/STTR grant applications.

Exposure to academic technology transfer office operations, and policies.

Evaluates inventions and intellectual properties and maintains reports, databases, and records. Develops and executes commercialization strategies and seeks out inventions, innovations, and intellectual properties.
