About UID
Unified Information Devices (UID) develops RFID-based identification, temperature monitoring, and data management solutions for research institutions, pharmaceutical companies, universities, and veterinary organizations worldwide. We're looking for a technically sharp, customer-focused specialist to help us continue delivering on that reputation.
The Role
The Technical Sales Specialist works directly with UID’s sales team to drive deals across veterinary and research markets while reporting to the Customer Success Manager to communicate pain points and feature requests. You’ll be the technical and clinical voice in the room – leading product demonstrations, fielding deep application questions, and giving prospects the confidence that comes from talking to someone who understands their workflow. This is a co-selling role: our sales team owns the relationships; you own the technical credibility.
Core Responsibilities
- Own and deliver product demonstrations for veterinary and research prospects — in person, at trade shows, and virtually
- Serve as the technical resource alongside sales reps throughout the sales process, fielding product and application questions with depth and confidence
- Tailor demo scenarios to match the specific workflows, applications, and systems of each prospect
- Support competitive positioning using accurate, spec-based product knowledge
- Develop and refine demo protocols, scripts, and supporting materials across all product lines
- Serve as the internal technical authority on research and veterinary product applications
- Track customer activity, opportunities, and follow-ups to keep the sales team organized and the pipeline visible
- Assist with product installation, onboarding, and hands-on training for new customers
- Serve as a point of contact for product-related questions and troubleshooting
- Provide timely, professional responses to inquiries from researchers, lab managers, facility staff, and clinical teams
- Represent UID at key industry events as the primary technical demo lead
- Contribute to improvements in product positioning, messaging, and training materials based on real customer experience
Qualifications
Required
- 3-5 years of customer-facing experience in veterinary, animal sciences, or life sciences — ideally in a sales, field applications, clinical specialist, or technical support role
- Strong technical aptitude — able to quickly master hardware and software products and explain them clearly to non-technical audiences
- Comfort presenting and demonstrating to clinical, scientific, and technical audiences — both prepared demos and unscripted Q&A
- Hands-on experience in a laboratory research or veterinary medicine setting
- Experience working in a CRM; Salesforce experience strongly preferred
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities simultaneously
- Willingness to travel 5-10% for trade shows, customer visits, and events
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, life sciences, or related field
- Background in a technical sales support, field applications, or pre-sales role
- Experience working cross-functionally with sales, marketing, or engineering teams
