Job Summary
Houston Vein & Vascular is seeking a skilled and compassionate Podiatrist to join our growing team at our North Houston location. This role focuses on diagnosing and treating foot and ankle conditions, with an emphasis on vascular-related complications such as diabetic foot care and wound management.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough foot and ankle examinations, including medical history review and physical assessments to determine accurate diagnoses.
- Utilize medical imaging tools such as X-rays and ultrasound to evaluate vascular and musculoskeletal conditions affecting the lower extremities.
- Manage wounds and ulcers, including advanced wound care techniques
- Develop personalized treatment plans that may include surgical interventions, conservative therapies, or minimally invasive procedures like botulinum toxin treatments for specific conditions.
- Perform surgical procedures related to podiatric health, ensuring aseptic techniques and patient safety at all times..
- Educate patients on foot health, preventive measures, and post-treatment care plans to promote long-term wellness.
- Maintain detailed medical records using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or other EMR platforms, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Requirements
- Valid podiatric medicine license in the state of practice with current board certification or eligibility.
- Proven experience in clinical podiatry, including surgical procedures, wound care, and diabetic foot management.
- Familiarity with medical imaging modalities like CT scans or ultrasound for diagnostic purposes.
- Knowledge of EHR systems such as Epic or similar platforms for documentation and patient management.
- Strong understanding of vascular interventional radiography and catheterization techniques is preferred.
- Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and compassionately.
- Basic life support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications in wound care or diabetic limb salvage are a plus. Pay: $140,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
