Science Teacher (Environmental Science, Ecology & Biology)
Saint Vincent Academy seeks a dynamic, student-centered Science Teacher with experience in Environmental Science, Ecology, and Biology for the upcoming academic year. The ideal candidate is passionate about inspiring young women in the sciences and committed to fostering intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, and academic excellence within a Catholic, college preparatory environment.
Responsibilities
- Teach courses in Environmental Science, Ecology, and Biology at the secondary level
- Develop engaging, inquiry-based lessons and laboratory experiences
- Integrate technology and current scientific research into classroom instruction
- Assess and support student growth through timely feedback and differentiated instruction
- Collaborate with colleagues in curriculum development and interdisciplinary initiatives
- Maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
- Participate fully in the life of the school community, including faculty meetings, student activities, and school events
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in science or advanced degree preferred
- Teaching certification or ability to obtain certification preferred
- Demonstrated experience teaching high school science courses
- Strong background in environmental systems, ecological principles, and biological sciences
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to the mission and values of a Catholic college preparatory school

- Experience designing laboratory and field-based learning experiences
- Ability to inspire and mentor young women pursuing STEM fields
